The Curious Case of Carson Charles

Carson is going through a phase where everything is his "best friend". The other day, I had made some monkey bread. I gave him a plate full and then went off to do something. A couple hours later I find the plate on the couch and there is about five pieces left but they were all hard and inedible. I told him to throw them in the trash. He started crying and saying "no, their my best friend". I was a little confused. Ok, more like weirded out. I couldn't understand why my child was crying over bread. We're talking full out crying too, not that pretend stuff where they manage to squeeze out one little tear. The next object was a water bottle. After he was done with his lunch, I had tossed his water bottle in the trash. The boy freaked out and grabbed it and said that it was his best friend too. He actually sat it next to him on the couch. Today, a bowl of fruit loops has the high honor. So bizarre! I am raising one crazy child.

Yesterday a flyer for Toys R Us came in the mail and it was full of Thomas the Tank items. Carson was in heaven. Then last night when I was putting him to bed, he asked me if we could go to the toy store. I told him I didn't have any money, thinking that would be the end of it. He thinks for a minute, then says, well we can go to the bank and BUY some money. The inner thinkings of a four year old. Priceless.

Here is another thing I find curious. His hair. This is how it looks when he goes to bed at night.

Nice right? It's all smooth and flat.

This is what he wakes up looking like:

The boy must sleep rough is all I can think. I call it his Kate Gosselin look. You know the reverse mullet.

Here it is from the side in all its glory:

And no I did not dress him like that, that is his unique fashion sense. He's not afraid to mix his patterns. You may see him one day on an episode of "What Not To Wear"

*Update* He is now lining up the fruit loops, naming them and introducing them to his stuffed animals. Should I be worried??

Maybe Carson is missing his siblings now that they are back at school? I remember my youngest being about 4 or 5 and he would cut out these teeny-tiny little figures - called them elementals - and if I threw one away it was like I had killed his dog. Those little scraps of paper were so annoying.

LOL, that is just so funny! I think it's really pretty cute. Is he missing his siblings while they're in school or are they talking about their friends in front of him and he wants a friend too?

No matter what it stems from, it's pretty darn adorable.

That hair..how is that possible during the course of one night? You're right...it looks just like Kate Gosselin's hair. LOL

What a character your lil' guy is!! LOL!

Kids have their vivid imaginations, and it's great that he can entertain himself. I wouldn't be worried unless he starts talking to his bottle of water!!

He he! He's a real cutie! Aren't they so funny at that age? My boys are always doing crazy things! I am always questioning why the thought even went through their little minds. Who knows! I have a couple of little guys that wake up with their hair like that every day too!

I was kinda like that as a kid and my daughter us like that now. She found a french fry on her plate at a restaurant one day and became attached to it. She named it Frenchie and brought it home. She refused to eat it or throw it away. To this day it is in a baggie in my freezer!

At least you'll have lots of funny stories to tell him when he's older!

The rubber gloves are my top sellers so far, but it's funny cause I made them with girly prints and pink ribbon "And" women are buying them for "Their Husbands".
(I hope it's because they clean?) LMFAO!!!
"LatinDadof4Punks" wouldn't be caught dead wearing those! (I might wait untill he goes to sleep, and take a pic just to see how they look on a man??) :0P

OMG his hair is hilarious! I wouldn't worry too much. Sometimes when I spill my glass of wine, I cry because it was my best friend :-)

OMG, he and Cole would be the best of friends if we lived near one another. I'm telling you, they are like two peas in a pod. When I read your Carson stories, it always reminds me of Cole! We just got that same darn Toys R Us mailer and he loves trains so he was flipping through it, saying "I want that...and I want this" and I said, "with what money??" and he said "Yours" and I told him I didn't have any money. So he said, "Yeah you do....Daddy's money". They always come back with something good, don't they?

Love the Kate Gosselin hair-do first thing in the morning...that's classic!

Carson sounds like he'll have a good sense of humor! My 8 yr old did stuff like that all the time and now my 18 mo old carries around a water bottle, he even tried to eat a squishy football today...one of those stress ball things, talk about stress, he should give it to Mommy!

Hope you have a great week! I'm out leaving comments for all my followers!
