Sibling Love

I grew up with only one brother, so I knew early on that when I had kids I wanted to have more than two. There's just something about large families that always appealed to me. Even during the times when everyone is home and it's loud and chaotic, I still wouldn't trade it for anything. Our most favorite time is when the power goes out and we get out all our candles and sit around in the living room talking and laughing. I think the kids look forward to it actually.
One thing we are always stressing to the kids is to make sure they look out for one another. Friends come and go, but the only people who will truly care about you is your family.
Colton started high school this year and I was so proud of Caitlyn for taking him under her wing and helping him get adjusted. They all may argue a lot with each other but deep down I know they love each other.

If I would have started earlier, I would definitely want four kids. Seeing as how I'm already in my thirties, I'll settle for two - ;-)

That is so sweet! I hope they'll always be close. Your daughter is such a sweetheart to look our for her younger brother.

Mine did the same thing. And mine are still very close. They adore each other.

So sweet! I have only one kid :-) He complains all the time that he doesn't have a brother or sister to play. Ugh!! I'm 42.
I wish I would have one more AT LEAST :-)
Gosh! Do you know what am I thinking now?
Raising only one kid is harder then 2!!!
I suppose to spend more time with him. It's OK. But he would be better if we had one more!
Great photos! :-) Hugs!!!

You have a beautiful family, Paula.
My boys are ever squabbling but when they find a common ground, they're actually very close.

Awwwww, Great story and Pix!

I grew up in a "Crazy but Fun" family of 3 sisters and 1 Brother and "It's the best". (Yes we fought, but bottom line, we LOVED each other!) I would die without them!

Our LatinHouse is a crazy one, with our 4Punks running around and getting on each others nerves, but at the end of the day, they all take care of each other and ultimately know that "FAMILIA PRIMERO" (Family First).

"You have great Kids Amiga".

That was so sweet of Caitlyn to do that for her brother! I hope my two boys will look out for each other in school.

It always warms my heart to see my two get along and look out for each other (and they're only 2 and 4). :)

Hubby has 4 other siblings and it's always so wonderful to see how they're ALL very supportive of each other. I wanted that for our children.

I know exactly what you're talking about!! We also emphasize to them about "looking out for each other." They may not realize it now, but when they're older, they will be the best of friends!!!!
