A Day at the Zoo

Yesterday, Caitlyn, Carson and I went to the zoo. Caitlyn had a school assignment for her Zoology class and it was a perfect day, so we headed on over. Carson was so excited. His most favorite part was the aquarium. I think he would spend the whole day in there if he could. Caitlyn had a good time. It was good to see her laughing and smiling and having fun with Carson. I think it helped take her mind off things.

Of course no trip for our family would be complete without some sort of incident. Carson got stung by a bee. We now know that three of the four kids are not allergic to bee stings. Colton is the only one who hasn't been stung and Charles and I said he will probably be the one that is allergic!
Carson cried for about five minutes and then I bought him a giant soft pretzel (his favorite) and all was well again. The rest of the day went without anymore incidents.

My favorites are always the monkeys. I love their personalities. There was one particular one that was sitting next to the glass. Carson had crouched down in front of him and was talking to him and all of a sudden the monkey went crazy and was trying to swat at Carson. Luckily there was glass in between. Then another monkey came over and they were both staring Carson down and making all kinds of face and hand gestures. It was so funny. Everyone around was laughing. Carson at first was scared but then he started laughing too. When we got home, Charles asked him if he had fun at the zoo and Carson said "A monkey tried to kill me." I had to explain to Charles what happened and he laughed.

Here is the monkey.

How fun! I wish there was a zoo closer to us so we could pack up and go from time to time. We have to drive about an hour and a half to go...darnit!

The pics are great! Looks like you all had a good time. :)

Oh, and I can't believe your daughter and her friend took those photos that you posted the other day! They are seriously good!!!

Hello. I would like to know if you would be interested in doing a guest post for my blog on SixSuitcaseTravel.com. My site lists over 2750 hotels for families of 5-8 in all 50 States, Canada & Mexico.

I am interested in highlighting families with 3+ children and their travels. Subjects would be: Tuesday Travel Tips - your tips for traveling with 3+ children or Where We've Been Wednesday - vacations, day trips or excursions to local attractions you've taken with your family. You could post for one or both.

Your post would help families like you, families of 5-8, with trip ideas and tips for traveling. My goal is to get a couple bloggers from each state. Please let me know if you are interested.

Thanks
